Natural Remedies
Nature's Treatments
Long before chemists started blowing things up in labs and pharmaceutical companies started handing out free pens to doctors, nature provided the raw materials for healing and housekeeping. For millennia, knowledge about how to use the products of the natural world was passed down through generations of herbalists and housewives, but since we developed the power to one-up nature, many of us have lost trust in its ability to do us service.
Here at Nature’s Treatments, we believe that while natural products may not always pack the chemical punch of solvents and medicines manufactured in a lab, they often provide an effective alternative that’s better both for our bodies and the environment. We do, however, bring a healthy sense of skepticism to our research and writing. We never simply accept a claim that something works, and we don’t expect you to, either. That’s why each article gives a nod to tradition before pursuing scientific evidence for the efficacy of the natural substance or technique at hand.
Of course, our advice should not replace that of your doctor, but we always work to supply an objective source of information to help you decide whether natural products can improve the way you live your life.
Natural Remedies. Organic Cleaning.
Our aim is to reintroduce you to plants, herbs, physical techniques, and natural substances as ways to promote better living. Some of these things can help keep you physically or mentally healthy, and others make it possible to maintain a clean home without resorting to harsh chemicals that damage our bodies and contaminate the planet. To the left, you will find an alphabetical menu of natural remedies and cleaners. In each of these articles, we give brief descriptions of the most common and scientifically supportable uses for the natural substance or therapy at hand, being sure to explain why it works the way it does. We also provide information about other promising uses, relevant products, and anything else we think an informed consumer should know.
